Demo Reel Breakdown

  • 01

    • Terraflora - NYU CADA Senior Thesis Project
    • Designed all characters/creatures, props, planets, and terrain. Modeled all characters/creatures, props, planets, and terrain in Autodesk Maya with detailing done in Pixologic ZBrush. Textured all characters/creatures, props, planets, and terrain using a combination of textures painted in Adobe Photoshop and shaders created in Autodesk Maya. Created all texture sheets used in musculature animated shaders, and stone skin shader, in Adobe Photoshop. Animated all characters/creatures, and props in Autodesk Maya. Matted painted starfield background in Adobe Photoshop. Created desert sky matte backgrounds in Terragen. Storyboarded animation. Created lighting using Mental Ray for Maya. Animated all cameras and scene transitions. Created render layers, which were then composited in Adobe After Effects.

    • Periostin Delivery Animation - Mt. Sinai / Dr. Ladage / BioDigital
    • Modeled Pericardium of the Heart in Autodesk Maya. Created shaders for the Pericardium. Re-textured the Heart in Autodesk Maya using Maya shaders and textures painted in Adobe Photoshop. Created animated lesion shader for use on the Heart. Modeled surgical tools in Autodesk Maya, and textured them using Maya shaders. Animated surgical tools, and created an expression, and control object to drive the animation of the catheters. Provided skeleton for use in animation. Created textures for the Diaphragm in Adobe Photoshop. Created initial render layers in Autodesk Maya. Composited initial animation. Animated initial cameras, and created initial lighting.

    • ATS 3f Valve Animation - ATS Medical / BioDigital
    • Modeled, animated, and textured ATS 3f Valve (see 06 for details). Re-modeled Aorta of the Heart according to ATS Medical specifications using Autodesk Maya. Created blendshapes and controls to animate thickness and constriction of the Aorta. Re-textured heart using Adobe Photoshop (Multiple 2048 x 2048 px Diffuse, Bump, and Transparency textures). Reconfigured already existing Maya shader used on the heart to use new textures, in addition to having controllable transparency linked to attributes on a control object. Setup initial particle systems to simulate blood flow. Setup render layers for use in final composite. Assisted with compositing in Adobe After Effects. Created HD proportioned 2D images in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator using material provided by Tad Ware & Company to mimic their printed promotional material. Assisted with lighting, camera animations, and camera transitions. Assisted with storyboarding.

    • EndoWrist - Dr. Hal Roberts / BioDigital
    • Modeled EndoWrist using Autodesk Maya. Textured Endowrist using Maya procedural shaders. Created render layers in Maya, and composited them in Adobe After Effects for final look. Created control objects, attributes, expressions, and constraints to control movement and articulation of the EndoWrist. Animated UV's of the rope geometry to simulate appearance of movement.

    • Modeled the Human Skeleton in Autodesk Maya.

    • ATS 3f Valve - ATS Medical / BioDigital
    • Modeled ATS 3f Valve in Autodesk Maya based on physical valve provided by ATS Medical. Animated valve by creating a series of blendshapes and deformers using a cloth simulation I created, and videos provided by ATS Medical as reference, along with feedback from ATS Medical employees. Textured valve using 3 x 1024 x 2048 px textures painted in Adobe Photoshop (Diffuse, Bump, Specular), and Maya shaders.

    • ATS Open Pivot Valve - ATS Medical / BioDigital
    • Modeled valve in Autodesk Maya based on .stl file, and physical valve provided by ATS Medical. Textured valve using Maya procedural shaders. Created render layers in Maya, and composited them in Adobe After Effects for final look.

    • Modeled valve in Autodesk Maya based on physical valve provided by ATS Medical. Textured valve using Maya procedural shaders. Created render layers in Maya, and composited them in Adobe After Effects for final look.

    • Modeled Cryomaze Console using Autodesk Maya. Textured Cryomaze Console using 4 x 512 x 512 px textures painted in Adobe Photoshop (Diffuse, Specular, Bump and Glow maps).
